The department of Vosges (88) covers 5,874 km2 with a population of approximately 400,000. The principal cities are Epinal, Saint Dié, Remirement, Vittel, Contrexéville, and Neufchâteau.

The green, hilly and woody region is full of natural sources and wells (mineral water and hydrotherapy). The industry in the Vosges region is mainly focused on agriculture and tourism, which ensures the harmonious development of the domain.

Dairy Section
The Vosges region ranks among the top-ten cheese-making departments in France. For 13 centuries, the production of Munster, cheese with designation of controlled French origin, has taken place on the Lorraine hill of the Vosges region.
Langres, another cheese with the designation of controlled French origin, with a washed rind, is manufactured in Lorraine since the 18th century.

Meat Section
Thanks to natural grasslands, which cover two thirds of agricultural surfaces of the department, the quality of the beef, veal and goat produced here is renowned. A special identification system accounting for each animal, provides maximum security for consumers to rely on.

Cereals Section
On the west-side of the department, the Lorraine plateau is developing at a rapid pace, while at the same time preserving the balance of a protected environment.

Forests
With its 280,000 hectares of forests, the Vosges region provides oxygen to Lorraine. The sawmills and woodwork industry resulted in the high-quality handicraft that is famous all over the world for its splendour art of cabinet making and violin building.
